My enthusiasm for employment law was raised during my law studies at Utrecht University, where I graduated in European Employment Law in 2006. After my studies, I qualified as a solicitor and completed the Grotius Academy post-graduate employment law program.

After having trained and worked with a mid-size firm in Utrecht for six years, I gained another five years of valuable experience in the international employment law practice of one of the bigger firms in the Netherlands. In 2017, I founded Crux Legal together with my partners Karen Beijerman and Nanouck Schmeitz. Running our own employment law boutique firm enables us to collaborate with clients in a more flexible, accessible and personal manner and to operate effectively and efficiently.

I am a member of various employment law associations, including the local Association of Specialist Employment Lawyers (VAAN) and the Employment Law Association (VvA), the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA) and the International Bar Association (IBA). In addition, I regularly teach courses and seminars on various employment law topics, such as the transfer of undertaking and requirements regarding employee consultation in corporate restructurings and mergers. I am the author of several practice notes on Dutch employment law in Thomson Reuters’ Practical Law series.

Dutch and international clients engage me in a wide range of issues in the field of employment law and employee participation. I have extensive experience in representing multinationals clients, who I provide guidance from their own (foreign) perspective on the often-complicated Dutch employment law. In addition, I represent Works Councils and individuals.

Clients appreciate my practical approach, my clear advice, and my sense of humor.
